Andavar Metal was founded by T.Gopal Chettiar in 1987. Based in a strategic place Sungai Besi which is very near to the Kuala Lumpur city centre.

Gopal Chettiar, with his experience in metal trading for the past 50 years, formed a Metal Trading Company in Penang by the name of Syarikat Shakti Murugan in 1972. This company is now successfully managed by his sons. In 1980, together with three other partners he formed another Metal Company in Kuala Lumpur.

Later in 1987, he moved out of that company and formed his third company Andavar Metal which later, his son Shankar and himself successfully upgraded and formed Andavar Metal Industry Sdn Bhd in 2006.

The Company Main Factory land area comprises about 21044 Square Feet (1955 Square metres) and a One-half (11/2) storey terrace office (156 Square Metres) are located in Taman Sungai Besi Industrial Park.The factory equipped with Hydraulic Press Machine, Cable Wire Stripper and Cutting Machine

AMI is not only in buying and selling of Scrap. AMI is also a service provider for Scrap Metal Recycling Company where by buying all grades of Non-Ferrous scrap metals from Industries , Government Entities, Trade Groups and Individuals from places surrounding Kuala Lumpur and throughout Peninsular Malaysia (also suppliers from Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Johor Bahru), and East Malaysia Sarawak and provide tooling and processing services to make them into high quality value added products which are Raw material to Major Manufacturing Industries both local and overseas.

The Company extended its business to International market and currently exporting to Middle East, Europe, USA, India, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia and other ASEAN Countries. Our value added products such as Copper, Brass, Steel, Aluminium and Zinc are of International Standards.

AMI also Imports all types of Aluminium scraps along with Brass Scrap like - Honey, Pallu, Pale, label, Lake and Copper Scrap- Mill Berry, Birch Cliff, Berry Candy, Cobra and PB N/C from Middle East, USA, Australia, Thailand, Korea, India and ASEAN.
