Q-BENA RESOURCES SDN BHD was incorporated in October 1971 formerly as BABENA SDN BHD; operating as a subsidiary of Terengganu SEDC in all major activities in the building and construction industries.

By 1973, it had established eight trading outlets throughout the state of Terengganu. Recognising the crucial needs in the development of the state, Babena started to focus its role in the distribution of building and construction materials and began consolidating its position in the market.

On the move

In 1991, with increased paid-up capital , BABENA’s sales grew at a tremendous rate. In addition, more than 40 manufacturers have appointed BABENA as their agent and distributor. The company has not looked back since then and five more new branches were opened a year later in Kota Bharu, Kuantan, Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bharu and Prai. The business activities of the company have expanded into many more related fields of expertise.

To capture a bigger market in the construction and building industry, new strategic business units were created and more value-added activities were introduced alongside the existing activities. In 1995 and early 1996, all the profit centres were incorporated as subsidiaries of BABENA under the Malaysian Companies Act 1965.

Growing up and branching out

In September 2001, BABENA’s shares were bought over via Management-Buy-Out arrangement by a group of senior management staffs who have been involved in the running of the company for the past several years.

Today, Q-Bena Resources dare to meet the ever-growing needs of a growing nation and attain  its dominant position it has achieved so far. This has been made possible by its greatest assets; the commitment of its human resources, technology know-how and rich experiences.
